Speech-language Pathologist Position at Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI)

Message: We are looking for a speech-language pathologist to join our acute care hospital team at Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI)! The Munroe Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center has a full time position available for a speech/language pathologist interested in working in a fast-paced and challenging acute care setting. Nebraska Medicine is a level 1 Trauma center and Stroke certified Center of Excellence on the UNMC campus. As part of the inpatient Speech Pathology team, services are provided across all clinical modalities, including evaluation and treatment of dysphagia, aphasia, motor speech, cognitive communicative, tracheostomized and ventilator dependent populations for both adult and pediatric clients. An outpatient caseload and multidisciplinary clinic opportunities may also be available.

The Speech-Language Pathology Department at MMI consists of 27 SLPs with a wide range of specialties, including motor speech, language, voice, AAC, cognitive-communication disorders, and swallowing. As a part of an academic medical center, we are committed to teaching students and advancing the field of speech-language pathology through research and other scholarly activities. The Department actively participates in journal club, monthly TheraChat conferences, and an annual AAC conference to ensure evidence-based practices.

The position hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30 with some weekend and holiday coverage requirements. Our office is located near mid-town Omaha, a progressive and vibrant metropolitan area. Job requirements include: a Master’s degree from an accredited university, Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and a license to practice in the State of Nebraska.
